i think you are wrong. if eventually lotus notes dies it's not because of the unix missing client.
lotus notes is very limited, any solution developed with notes is expensive and impossible to move to another environnement.
the only interesting feature in notes is replication, it made sense 10 years ago when bandwith was limited and expensive. now it's useless.
